Your website is an important component of your business and making a choice of what service and products to use can be difficult. My goal is to make the process as easy as possible. Start here to find answers to your questions and don’t hesitate to ask if don’t find what you need.

What Can I Expect Once we Get Started?

After you submit your ‘Get Started’ request, a phone consultation will further identify your needs, answer your questions and narrow down the scope of your project. At this time you will receive an invoice for the set-up fees and your project will get started.  You will not start paying monthly service fees, if applicable, until your site is live.

At the start of your project you will gather and send any logos, images, videos and special content that you would like to use on your site and make color and design requests.  During the design process I will email you images of the design concept for approval and you will have a chance to make changes.  Once the design concept is approved, content will be loaded and MLS and other services integrated.  When the site is complete it will go live and a phone training session will be set-up for you to learn to use all the features.

I Already Have a Website, Can I Keep my Domain and Hosting Service?

Of Course! If you hold your own domain registration access to change the host servers is easy and I can help you with the process. If your domain is held by a the company that currently owns your website, you will need to request that they transfer registration into your name. Depending on the company there may be fees associated with this process. Hosting of your website is part of all packages that include MLS Integration, however if you prefer to hold your own hosting account there are many great choices for providers that support WordPress and Data Feeds. I will happily set up your hosting account as you choose.

I’m Starting from Scratch, How do I Handle Domains and Hosting?

You can either leave the registration and hosting set-up to me, or choose to do these on your own with a service that is capable of handling WordPress and the required data feeds for MLS Integration. No matter who sets it up, your domain and hosting services will always be held in your name, remember this is your site, you own it!

How Long Will it Take to Get Up and Running?

This can vary depending on several factors, but typically you can expect 7-10 days for A La Carte Services and 14 – 21 days for full website packages.  You will be contacted immediately after submitting your information to start the process and a time estimate will be provided based on the extent of the project.

Can You Serve my Local MLS?

Every MLS has their own rules and policies.  Some charge fees and some only allow brokers to access data feeds.  Most, however, can provide a RETS or IDX feed.  If your MLS is already in our system, the process is easy and only takes 1 – 2 days to complete.  If it is not, we will contact them and confirm that we can provide you with data feed services before starting your project.  Mapping the new MLS feed will take an extra few days, but typically will not add much time to your overall project.

Do I Have a Choice of IDX/RETS Providers?

I am happy to discuss your MLS Integration options with you, and while I have my favorites, you are not locked in to using those services. There are several choices for WordPress IDX or RETS integration and different solutions may work best for different situations. Your decision may impact your set-up and monthly fees and will be reflected in your quote once a decision is made.

What Type of Content do You Put on My Website?

When setting up your website I will load it with basic content about you, your region and your business. Any content you provide during the initial set-up period will also be added and will greatly enhance the individuality of your site at the time of launch. Your site will be structured and optimized so that you can easily build your content, providing your unique expertise through articles, media, and links. This is an important component of a successful website in today’s internet age. Your initial training and continuing support will help you to utilize the components of your site to continually improve upon it.

Do You Provide Maintenance and Support After My Site is Live?

Basic site maintenance for security and updates is included in full website packages. This includes a once monthly site ‘check-up’ to be certain all framework and plugins are up to date and secure and that your site is properly backed up. Additional site maintenance and content loading is available for an hourly fee. Basic support for using your site and solving any problems you may encounter is also included in full website packages. Support begins with a quick email request and will be answered promptly with phone or e-mail consultation, depending on the extent of the support question.

I Have Special Requests, Can You Help Me?

Yes!  Just ask!  Some services may be subject to additional charges, but will always be approved ahead of time.

Will I Be Able to Make Changes to my Website?

Remember, this site belongs to you, so you have full control over changes to content and structure. By default you will receive a user account at the ‘editor’ level to have easy access to post blogs, edit page contents and upload media. You are strongly encouraged to learn to use these functions and keep your content fresh and relevant for your customers. If you decide you want further administrative rights, you will be granted full access to all administrative functions of your website. Keep in mind, if you choose this level of control you are fully responsible for the consequences of the administrative actions you take. Changes to your WordPress theme and other core files can break your site or cause severe problems in how it functions. These changes can be fixed, but will incur hourly charges to do so.
